Info on the EU

Below, you will find links to information on EU policies in the field of science and technology and the EU in general.

ERAWATCH provides information on national and regional research policies, actors, organisations and programmes.

Here, you will find information on the EU's research funding instrument, the 7th Framework Programme for Research and Technological Development (FP7). The 7th Research Framework Programme is the umbrella over all research-related EU activities. Over a period of 7 years from 2007 to 2013, FP7 has been established to further construct the European Research Area (ERA) and comprises four specific programmes, namely Cooperation, Ideas, People and Capacities.
Under the Cooperation programme, funding possibilities for 10 thematic fields are offered, including specific international cooperation activities. While the Ideas programme aims at facilitating basic or 'frontier' research, the People programme focuses on researchers' career development and mobility.
The Capacities programme's objective is to enhance Europe's research and innovation capacities. The Capacities programme includes International Cooperation activities that are not tied to a specific field of research, but are developed in order to open the European Research Area and connect it to other parts of the world through policy dialogue, the creation of research networks or the development joint funding instruments.
The SEA-EU-NET project is funded within the Capacities programme.
