The European Commission has published one of its largest calls for proposals for international collaborative scientific research.
 
The call for proposals covers all thematic research programs of the European Seventh Framework Program (FP7) with a total budget of 3.3 billion Euros.
 
Malaysian scientists are invited to join the proposals of European research consortia in all thematic areas of this call.
 
The information seminar is intended for Malaysian scientists and researchers and representatives of scientific institutions. Emphasis will be on a short overview of the programme and on the application procedures for Malaysian scientists.
 
Two representatives from the European Commission, General Directorate for Research, Dr. Jürgen Sanders and Dr. Jean-Michel Sers, will conduct the presentations to be followed by a question and answer session.
 
The thematic areas covered in the research call include:

§         Food, Agriculture and Fisheries, and Biotechnology
§         Information and Communication Technologies (ICT)
§         Nano-sciences, Nanotechnologies, Materials and New Production Technologies (NMP)
§         Energy
§         Environment (including Climate Change)
§         Transport (including Aeronautics)
§         Socio-Economic Sciences and Humanities Space
§         Security
§         Science in Society
