FP7 Contact Point Training for SEA-EU-NET Partners

SEA-EU-NET is a project funded under the European Union 7th Framework Programme (FP7) for Research and Technological Development which has started in January 2008 for a period of 4 years. It aims at increasing the quality, quantity, profile and impact of bi-regional Science and Technology (S&T) cooperation between the ten member countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the Member- and Associated States of the European Union (EU). Another objective of the project is to promote collaboration in areas of common interest to South-east Asia and Europe such as climate change and environment, energy and emerging diseases.

One of the means to accomplish these goals will be the strengthening the participation of South East Asia (SEA) partners in FP7. Through the project activities, the establishment of FP7 Contact Points in ASEAN partner countries has already started. Therefore, a two-week FP7 Contact Point training sessions in Ankara and Bonn will be the first activity in that respect. The training sessions will pursue the following different aspects:

  • General information about FP7

  • Specific information on selected thematic fields, which are of major interest for SEA countries

  • Giving specific information about “how to write a successful project proposal” and “how to implement the project”

  • Training in legal, financial and administrative aspects of FP7

  • Intercultural training
