Euro Gold Singapore 2009

For the first time EMBO Gold Medalists met up to attend a workshop organised by the Singapore Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology and supported by the British High Commission, as well as Swissnex Singapore.

The European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) Gold Medal has been awarded annually since its inception in 1986, in recognition of the outstanding achievements and exceptional promise of a young scientist working in an EMBO member state in the broad field of molecular biology. EMBO Gold Medal winners have invariably gone on to become leaders in their fields.

The meeting brought together, for the first time, the majority of the Gold Medal winners from the last two decades. Their presentations, which covered a range of topics in developmental, cell and molecular biology, were complemented with contributions from prominent Singapore-based scientists in a three-day meeting highlighting cutting edge research into the molecular control of a diverse set of biological processes.
