National Office for Research & Technology (Hungary) and the Hungarian Scientific Research Fund publish call for mobility scheme

The National Office for Research & Technology in Hungary (NKTH) and the Hungarian Scientific Research Fund (OTKA) have published a call for proposals titled MOBILITY for the period between 2008 and 2010 to support the international mobility of researchers in order to promote research careers (call acronym: HUMAN-MB08). The overall objectives of the Call, co-financed by NKTH, OTKA and FP7 (Marie Curie actions), include promoting the scientific careers of experienced researchers with PhD degree or at least 4 years of full-time employment as researchers by supporting their mobility and gaining international experience, as well as promoting the Hungarian exploitation of experience acquired in third countries by supporting researchers returning to Hungary.

The call has been published under three priorities - i.e. outgoing mobility, incoming mobility and reintegration - for researchers carrying out basic, industrial or applied research in the fields of technical-, natural-, life- and social sciences. As to which of the three priorities are open may change annually.

For third country researchers, the priority "Incoming mobility" is of great relevance. Under this priority, researchers with non-Hungarian nationality (nationals of EU members, associated countries or third countries), with PhD degree or at least four years of full-time employment as researchers at the time of application shall be eligible, who wish to enhance their professional experience via realizing a research project at an internationally renowned Hungarian research unit.
The amount of funding is between 10-12 million HUF (EUR 40-50.000)/year.
The call is open for continuous submission from its publication until its budget is exhausted, but no later than 1st October 2010.
